About Me
Approach
My approach to therapy and sleep treatment is extremely personalized, human, and rooted in both science and empathy. As a neurologist and sleep-medicine clinician, I do not believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Every patient’s sleep story carries its own layers—stress, culture, family, migration, health, and emotions—and my role is to listen deeply and build a plan that honors all of it.
I integrate evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) with the neurological understanding of how the brain and body regulate sleep. At the same time, I bring in a compassionate and culturally sensitive lens, especially for Iranians who have immigrated abroad and may carry the unique burden of acculturative stress, time zone conflicts with family in Iran, and the challenges of starting over in a new society.
---------------
In practice, this means:
Humanized care—I treat patients not as cases, but as people with real fears, stories, and dreams.
Scientific grounding—I rely on the latest sleep medicine guidelines and neurological insights to shape therapy.
Cultural sensitivity—I understand the language, traditions, and migration stressors that shape the Iranian and Middle Eastern diaspora experience.
Collaborative healing—I design strategies together with patients, combining structured tools like CBT-I with practical solutions for modern life.
In a nutshell: my approach comes from my heart, my brain, and my specialty. I believe that healing sleep means healing the whole person—body, mind, and identity.
Services
I provide specialized care for people struggling with chronic insomnia, poor sleep quality, and related neurological or health conditions. As a neurologist and sleep-medicine clinician, I combine evidence-based therapies—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), medical evaluation, and modern sleep-science approaches—to help patients restore healthy and restorative sleep.
My services are especially tailored for Iranians living abroad—including Iranian Americans, Iranian Canadians, and other members of the Iranian diaspora—who often face unique sleep challenges linked to migration stress, cultural adjustment, late-night communication with family in Iran, and the pressures of adapting to a new country.
I work with a wide range of sleep disorders, including:
Chronic insomnia (difficulty falling or staying asleep, early morning awakenings)
Sleep apnea and snoring (evaluation and treatment guidance)
Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) and periodic limb movements in sleep
Nightmares, anxiety-related sleep disturbances, and circadian rhythm problems
Daytime sleepiness, fatigue, and poor concentration caused by disrupted sleep
My approach is personalized, bilingual (Farsi/English), and culturally sensitive, ensuring that treatment plans fit both medical needs and the realities of immigrant life. Whether through structured CBT-I programs, medical consultation, or practical strategies for managing jet lag and irregular schedules, my goal is to help patients reclaim restorative sleep and improve their quality of life.
If you are searching for help with insomnia, sleep problems, or stress-related sleep issues as an Iranian living in the U.S., Canada, Europe, or elsewhere, I provide specialized support backed by clinical expertise and years of experience in neurology and sleep medicine.
