Meredith Powell

Social Worker (Mental Health)

I am a licensed social worker and mental health counselor who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families, addressing a variety of concerns. I also work with families living cross-culturally or overseas and address transition needs. I specialized in treating trauma, and am experienced in treating anxiety.

About Me

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, helping you navigate life's challenges. I specialise in treating trauma and support those experiencing anxiety. My focus extends to guiding families living cross-culturally or overseas through complex transitions. We can explore your concerns together in a safe, collaborative space. This approach helps build practical strategies for resilience and peace of mind.

Approach

When life shifts suddenly or old wounds resurface, I focus on helping you make sense of what’s happening and choose small, steady steps forward. In sessions—in English from my Malaga practice or online when you’re abroad—we move at a pace that fits your family or your teen, alternating practical skills with space to process difficult memories and anxious thoughts. Between meetings I often suggest brief, doable experiments to test new ways of coping. This way of working tends to suit people facing transitions, trauma recovery, or persistent worry.
