Ms Mariyah Shahrin

Counselor

Hi, I'm Mariyah. I'm passionate about supporting LGBTQ+, POC, and neurodivergent individuals with mental health, through a person-centred and holistic approach. I draw from ACT, Narrative Therapy, CBT & others. I also offer telehealth sessions world-wide, excl. US & Canada. Reach out at samasama.counselling@gmail.com.

About Me

I compassionately support LGBTQ+, POC, and neurodivergent individuals seeking mental health guidance. My person-centred, holistic approach helps you explore challenges in a welcoming space. I aim to create a supportive environment where you feel truly seen and heard. Telehealth sessions are offered worldwide, ensuring accessible support for you, wherever you are.

Approach

Sessions feel collaborative and paced to what you bring, gently turning lived experience into clearer choices and small steps. Working from Brisbane, I connect across time zones via secure video and speak English and Malay-Indonesian to make space for your language and context. We explore the stories that shape your sense of self, notice patterns with curiosity, and practise simple skills—experiments between sessions help you test changes in daily life. People who seek affirming, culturally aware and practical support often find this approach grounding and useful.
