Mrs Maria Photiades
Licensed Clinical Psychologists
“Clinical Psychologist working with children and adolescents.”
About Me
I work with children and adolescents to help them understand and navigate their feelings. It can be tough for young people to express what's going on. I create a calm, supportive space where they can explore their experiences. We might use conversation or creative activities to make sense of big emotions. My aim is to help them build confidence and develop practical ways to manage challenges. This fosters resilience for their unique journey.
Approach
Working with young people, I focus on slowing the pace so thoughts and feelings can be noticed and named. In Nicosia I offer sessions in English and Greek and meet online when needed, keeping sessions predictable with short, manageable steps and creative prompts. Therapy blends gentle assessment, conversational checking-in and practical tasks that reveal mood and anxiety patterns and build everyday strategies between meetings. This way of working tends to suit families and adolescents who want steady, clear support.
