Maria Galani, MSc

Psychotherapist

verified by TherapyRoute

I have a particular clinical interest in supporting clients who have experienced workplace bullying, as well as those struggling with work-related stress or burnout. Alongside workplace-related difficulties, I also support individuals experiencing a range of issues, including anxiety, low mood and relationship difficulties.

About Me

My name is Maria, and I am a registered MBACP Psychotherapist, and in the last stages of my doctoral training as an in-Training Counselling Psychologist.

Approach

I provide an empathic, non-judgemental space where the clients can open up and feel seen and heard for who they truly are. The therapeutic sessions will be tailored to meet their unique needs, based on a shared understanding of their concerns and problems. As an existential-integrative therapist, I draw on approaches that best suit the issues clients bring into the therapy room. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy for adults. Within existential therapy, emotional and psychological difficulties are understood as forms of inner conflict arising from an individual’s confrontation with the givens of existence. Rather than focusing solely on the past, this approach emphasises the here and now, exploring the human condition and what it means for each individual. Alongside this, I work integratively, meaning I incorporate a range of therapeutic approaches depending on each client’s needs. These include Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy. I also have a particular interest in Transactional Analysis, which can support clients in gaining insight into relational patterns and how these influence their interactions with others. Overall, my approach is flexible and tailored to the individual.
