Maria Abraham Ph.D

Associate Counseling Psychologist

verified by TherapyRoute

Counselling psychologist offering marriage counselling, couples’ therapy, and adolescent therapy for relationship conflict, emotional struggles, behaviour challenges, and addiction patterns. I help women, couples, families, and teenagers understand and change the patterns shaping their relationships, improve communication, and achieve lasting healing and behaviour change through practical, structured, insight-driven therapy, with faith integrated where it is valued, and a trauma-informed approach to emotional and relational care.

About Me

I work with women, couples, families, and adolescents who feel stuck in patterns of relationship conflict, emotional strain, behaviour challenges, or addiction that keep repeating. I don’t see people as problems to fix, but as individuals shaped by experiences and family dynamics that can be understood and changed. Whether you are dealing with communication breakdown in your relationship, navigating adolescent challenges, or addressing unhealthy coping patterns, I help you make sense of what is driving your responses. My work is structured and insight-driven, combining therapy with practical behaviour change and coaching-informed strategies, supported by a trauma-informed understanding of how past experiences shape present reactions. Where it matters to you, I integrate a faith-informed perspective as a steady grounding for growth and restoration. Over time, this work leads to clearer thinking, healthier habits, and more intentional, less strained relationships.

Approach

Sessions are structured and practical. We identify patterns driving reactions, build emotional awareness, and practice skills that support healthier responses and behaviour change. Using behaviour modification, pattern-focused exploration therapy, and trauma-informed, coaching-integrated strategies, I work with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents to move from confusion to clarity and from reactivity to steadiness. Between sessions, you apply simple tools and reflections to real-life situations and track progress. Where it matters to you, faith can be integrated as support. The goal is consistent: clearer thinking, healthier relationships, and measurable, lasting change.
