“I am an IACP-accredited Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist based in Co. Mayo, Ireland, offering online therapy to individuals, couples, families, and students across the country. My practice integrates CBT, humanistic, and existential approaches within a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming framework, tailoring each session to how the client thinks, communicates, and processes the world, rather than applying a fixed model. My particular areas of focus are ADHD, autism, and AuDHD, alongside systemic family therapy and couple counselling. ”

About Me

Hi, I'm Marcin, an IACP-accredited Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist based in Co. Mayo, working with clients online across Ireland. I bring together CBT, humanistic, and existential approaches into a style of therapy that's trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, meaning it's shaped around how you think and experience the world, not a one-size-fits-all model. Much of my work focuses on ADHD, autism, and AuDHD, as well as couple and family relationships, but I also support anyone navigating anxiety, stress, addiction, or simply a difficult chapter in life. I work with individuals, couples, families, and students, and offer clinical supervision for fellow professionals. Sessions are available in English and Polish. I hold a Certificate in Clinical Service Provision (CCPS – ADHD, Evergreen) and have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent clients, as well as those navigating anxiety, addiction, workplace stress, and relationship difficulties. I also work bilingually in English and Polish, offering culturally attuned support to Polish-speaking clients in Ireland. My clinical background spans community, private practice, and complex family work, including several years as a Systemic Family Therapist with Archways, working with families affected by ADHD, ASD, and intergenerational trauma, and acting as a certified Meitheal (Tusla) Lead Practitioner. I currently maintain a private caseload, provide supervision to trainee professionals, and lead Hibernium Academy, a training initiative supporting neurodivergent-informed practice for therapists, coaches, and educators. I approach therapy as a collaborative process. Clients can expect an honest, respectful space where their pace, communication style, and goals are respected, whether that's structured, skills-based work or open reflective exploration. I am fully insured, work within IACP's ethical framework, and maintain regular clinical supervision to ensure safe, high-quality care. What You Can Expect A first conversation, not an assessment. Our initial session is about getting to know you, what's brought you here, what you're hoping for, and whether we're a good fit to work together. A pace that suits you. There's no script to follow. Some clients want structured, skills-based work (like CBT); others need space to talk things through. We'll shape sessions around what actually helps you. A neurodiversity-affirming space. If you're ADHD, autistic, or AuDHD, you won't need to mask or explain yourself, the way you communicate, focus, or process things is simply expected and worked with. Confidentiality and professionalism. I practise under IACP's ethical framework, hold full Medical Malpractice Insurance, and maintain regular clinical supervision to ensure the quality and safety of your care. Practical, online access. Sessions take place remotely, so you can access support from home, at a time that fits your life, including evening slots for students and working professionals. Honest, collaborative work. I'll be direct with you about what I think could help, and equally open to hearing what isn't working. Therapy works best as a two-way process.

Approach

My Approach & Modality I work as an Integrative Psychotherapist, which means I don't follow a single fixed model — instead, I draw on several evidence-based approaches and adapt them to fit each client, rather than asking the client to fit the model. The core approaches I integrate include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) — for clients who want practical, structured tools to understand and shift patterns of thought, feeling, and behaviour. Humanistic & Person-Centred Therapy — grounded in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and the belief that clients already hold the resources for their own growth; my role is to provide the right conditions for that to unfold. Existential Therapy — helping clients explore meaning, identity, choice, and life transitions, particularly useful for those facing uncertainty or significant change. Systemic Therapy — used especially in family and couple work, viewing difficulties not just as individual issues but as patterns within relationships and family systems. This integrative base sits within two frameworks that shape everything I do: Trauma-informed practice — working at a pace that prioritises safety, trust, and the client's sense of control, recognising how past experience shapes present responses. Neurodiversity-affirming practice — particularly for ADHD, autistic, and AuDHD clients, where therapy is adapted to different processing, communication, and regulation styles rather than treating those differences as deficits to correct. In practice, this means sessions can look quite different depending on who I'm working with: skills-based and CBT-led for someone wanting structure and clear tools; more exploratory and person-centred for someone processing a life transition; systemic and communication-focused for couples and families; or a blend of all of these as the work develops.

Services

Areas of Specialisation ADHD, Autism & AuDHD A core focus of my practice. I hold a Certificate in Clinical Service Provision (CCPS – ADHD, Evergreen) and work extensively with neurodivergent clients, including adults navigating a late diagnosis, co-occurring ADHD/autism (AuDHD), and the emotional impact of masking, burnout, and rejection sensitivity. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming throughout: therapy is shaped around how a client's brain works, not against it. Systemic Family Therapy Several years' experience delivering systemic psychotherapy to families facing complex, high-intensity needs, including cases involving ASD, ADHD, challenging behaviour, and intergenerational trauma. This includes certified experience as a Meitheal (Tusla) Lead Practitioner, coordinating multidisciplinary support around a child and family alongside teachers, psychiatrists, and social workers. Couple & Relationship Counselling Supporting couples with communication breakdown, conflict, and disconnect, including relationships affected by neurodivergence, where differing communication or processing styles are often at the root of misunderstanding. Addiction & Workplace Stress Individual therapy for adults managing addiction, anxiety, and workplace-related stress, including support for building healthier coping strategies and boundaries. Trauma-Informed Practice Working with clients affected by past trauma, using a paced, safety-first approach that respects the client's sense of control and readiness. Cross-Cultural & Bilingual Therapy (English/Polish) Providing culturally attuned therapy for Polish-speaking clients in Ireland, alongside psychoeducational webinars supporting mental health literacy within the Polish-speaking community. Clinical Supervision Supervision for trainee counsellors, supervisors, and professionals across disciplines, informed by a neurodivergent-affirming lens, supporting reflective practice and ethical, high-quality clinical work.
