Art Psychotherapist

I am an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist, practicing with a person-centred, compassionate and humanistic approach. Working integratively means that I use the most relevant theories and research for our work together. This includes somatic approaches, psychodynamic theory and the arts. I share the approaches I’m using as we work and I work transparently with you to agree what we will focus on together and check in on this at regular intervals to ensure that our work continues to meet your expectations and values.

About Me

I am an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist based in London, Hackney who works with adults.

Approach

Together we move between making and speaking, using creative process and somatic awareness to open up feelings that feel stuck or hard to name. In my London consulting room or online, we attune to sensation, follow emerging images, and explore areas such as relationships patterns, abuse or loss. Between sessions I can offer practical, short experiments you can try to extend safety and awareness into everyday life. This way of working tends to suit adults seeking long term, embodied change. The weekly work of psychotherapy can be challenging. It can involve looking at painful parts of ourselves. It can mean going back in time and re visiting experiences in order to move forward. In my experience with clients, the rewards are worth it. These might be to build a more compassionate and broader understanding of self, to be able to form relationships you value or to authentically meet your goals. My approach is LGBTQIA+ affirmative and anti-oppressive, which means keeping your cultural, social and political identity and values central to the therapy.
