Ms Lilja Steingrímsdóttir

Psychotherapist

Verified

I am a somatic psychotherapist experienced in working with people dealing with the effects of trauma, maladaptive coping strategies and existential crises such as burnout, divorce, loss of job, loss of health, people who experience gender dysphoria, social anxiety, loneliness, depression and ongoing grief.

About Me

I understand that navigating complex trauma, existential shifts, or persistent loneliness can feel overwhelming. As a psychotherapist, I guide you to gently to explore your precent situation and the cause of your problems. We can cultivate a sense of stability and integration, enabling you to move forward with greater presence and ease. In doing so I use dialog, tracing, exploring, psycoeducation, somatic work and EMDR.

Approach

In the sessions, we use dialogue, sensing the body, tracing emotions, breath, gentle movement and guided attention to track shifts in the body. The process is paced to match your readiness. This way of working often suits people facing major losses, role changes or ongoing grief. Sessions are in Reykjavík or online in Danish, English or Icelandic.
