Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

As a LMFT I am specifically trained to think systemically and to help you achieve your goals using effective, evidence based therapy

About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in New York, NY. I help you navigate life transitions, anxiety, relationship issues, LGBTQI+ concerns, and stress or burnout through counseling and sex therapy.

Approach

My name is Lauren, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) offering sex therapy, individual psychotherapy, relationship counseling and marital/pre-marital coaching to address a variety of personal and interpersonal obstacles you may be experiencing.

As a LMFT I am specifically trained to think systemically and to help you achieve your goals using effective, evidence based short-term therapy. By applying complementary, integrative therapy techniques and approaches, including Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy and Imago Couples counseling, we will uncover long-standing patterns or perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more meaningful, conscious and fulfilling life.

While we cannot alter difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better recognize present perceptions and behaviors that may be road blocking your true potential. When we do not adhere to society’s expectations about how people are supposed to be, feel and act, we start to feel more and more conflicted. As your therapist, I consider all aspects and complexities of your world and provide a safe, objective and constructive atmosphere to work towards your well-being. Our therapeutic work together will aim to empower you to revise your current narrative and develop your own unique stories that you'll find work for you and not against.

Basic Information

Services

Psychotherapy, whether individual or couples, involves meeting with a therapist for the purpose of identifying barriers and developing effective tools to achieve a more fulfilling life. The process helps to improve personal, romantic, professional and/or sexual relationships.

I work with a range of clients, providing counseling for adolescents, adults, couples and families and have experience working with various conditions including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, relationship and intimacy difficulties, grief and loss, and substance abuse. I utilize an integrative approach, pulling from evidence based and integrative theories, such as Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Imago Couples Counseling, Narrative Therapy and Gottman’s Couples Therapy, to best provide clients with practical tools to utilize with every day challenges.
