Laurel Rowe

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

I use Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help individuals to uncover pathways toward positive coping and meaningful living. I have training in Prolonged-Exposure Therapy and Trauma-Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to support individuals navigating trauma.

About Me

I help individuals uncover pathways toward positive coping and meaningful living. In our compassionate space, we gently explore your experiences. Using Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), I support you in finding clarity. For those navigating trauma, my specific training offers support for your healing journey. This approach helps you build resilience and find practical ways forward.

Approach

We move from conversation into practical experiments: in session we notice patterns, choose small, doable steps, and reflect on what matters most to you. In my Ottawa office or in English-language online sessions, pacing is collaborative and steady — we balance compassionate reflection with targeted practice, sometimes using gradual exposure when memories or situations feel overwhelming. Between meetings I often suggest brief exercises to try in daily life so therapy stays connected to real-world moments. This approach tends to suit adolescents and adults seeking thoughtful, skills-focused change.
