Dr Laura Nichols

Licensed Psychologist

My demeanour, is relaxed and warm which I boast is due to my east coast roots! I know first hand change is possible. At this time most of my referrals will have the opportunity to work with one of my PhD students that I supervise at a reduced fee. This is an indirect way of working under my care.

About Me

My relaxed and warm demeanour, a reflection of my East Coast roots, helps create an inviting space. I truly believe change is possible for everyone. Many clients will work with one of my supervised PhD students at a reduced fee. I closely oversee their work, ensuring you receive dedicated, expert support. This collaborative approach offers a unique path to exploring challenges and building lasting resilience.

Approach

You'll find our work unfolds in steady, practical sessions—warm, conversational and focused on small changes that build momentum. I meet adults in Ottawa and offer English-language sessions both in person and online, often with careful oversight when a supervised PhD clinician provides reduced-fee support. We use assessment-informed focus to track mood, anxiety and transition patterns, pairing skill practice between sessions with gentle reflection and feedback. People facing life transitions, burnout or persistent anxiety tend to find this paced, supportive way of working helpful.
