Mr Kevin Standish

Registered Counselor

I am an experienced therapist of 40 years with a range of skills and focus points: I am a psychotherapist trained in Couple/Relationship therapy working from an integrated model of therapy, using EFT as my model of couple therapy. EMDR trained for trauma treatment. Integrative therapist working with long term individual therapy managing complex PTSD and clinical psychology training to Masters degree level. I understand learning difficulties like ADHD and ASD and the impact on relationships and how to manage them better using CBT and behavioural management processes.

About Me

I help individuals and couples navigate complex relationship challenges and heal from past trauma. My integrated approach supports you in understanding patterns and finding new ways forward. If you're struggling with relationship dynamics or the impact of difficult experiences, I offer a compassionate space. Our work together can involve EMDR to process trauma, helping you find stability and connection. Clients often find my direct but supportive style helps them gain clarity and build stronger foundations.

Approach

When relationships feel stuck or old hurts keep resurfacing, therapy becomes a practical exploration of patterns and present interactions that opens space for change. I see individual adults and couples in NE London, and online. I offering sessions in English and Afrikaans. Sessions balance gentle tracking of moments, focused trauma processing tailored to your pace, and small, doable experiments between meetings, with clear shared goals and attentive pacing. Those wanting clearer communication, reduced overwhelm and safer connection often find this approach helpful.
