My therapeutic approach is integrative - currently only in English but I am working hard to improve my Portuguese! Most session work will usually start out using person centred and/or play-led and creativity-based modalities. A person-centred focus, particularly at the outset, helps build trust in the therapeutic process and relationship. Play and creativity promote access to areas of the brain which can be restricted or closed off by traditional techniques, particularly if there is any reticence or resistance to therapeutic input. If or when you feel ready, we can move into more psychodynamic or other approaches, where appropriate.

About Me

I offer a warm, inviting, integrative space, in person or online, where we can explore what's on your mind or how you've been feeling. Adults and children alike are invited to engage with early intervention play-led and creative therapies, where appropriate. Sensitively guided, these help find means of expressing thoughts and feelings where words can’t or are difficult to find. Or, if these don't feel right for you, we can work in person-centred or psychodynamic ways, using or integrating other techniques as appropriate and at a pace you feel comfortable with. Our integrative approach tailors your therapy to you - because we believe one size can't fit all!

Approach

Counselling & Integrative Therapy Couples Therapy Maintaining healthy relationships is a key foundation of emotional and mental well-being and growth, thats why we offer ‘Couple’s Therapy’ sessions. These sessions aim to maintain and improve romantic relationships and help resolve interpersonal conflicts. A person-centerd approach to therapy begins with the premise that we all have the internal raw materials, the emotional and mental resources we need for personal growth. Person-centred counselling aims to provide three ‘core conditions’ - unconditonal positive regard, empathy and congruence, which are seen as essential in promotoing growth through the therapeutic process. Person-centred The psycho-dynamic therapeutic approach is also known as ‘insight oriented therapy’. This approach focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in our current behaviours. A psycho-dynamic approach is geared towards self-awareness and understanding the influence past has on present behaviours, enabling examination of past, unresolved issues manifesting as present ‘dysfunction’. Psycho-dynamic One-to-One Counselling The foundational basis of therapeutic counselling, one-to-one sessions are the discreet, safe, inviolable space we may not otherwise find in our daily lives, space we need to process emotional and mental turmoil. Finding that space with the help of a skilled, qualified therapist has led many to refer to this type of session as a ‘talking cure’. At All-of-You Therapy, we take an integrative approach to ‘modality’. We do this because in anyone’s subjective , lived experience of the world, of our communities, families & friends, of relationships and how their complex dynamics and interactions inform our emotional and mental well-being; in counselling and psychotherapy, one size simply just can’t fit all! Therapeutic sessions with us are always rooted first and foremost in a person-centred approach. This means any change in focus or modality will only happen at a time or pace a client feels comfortable with. Our experience tells us there are no ‘sticking plasters’ in emotional and mental health. Our aim at All-of-You Therapy is always to help you find the underlying causes of ‘presenting issues’, what brought you to counselling and psychotherapy Above all we aim to provide each client with the tools to understand those causes and move beyond any negative or destructive behaviour patterns they inform and perpetuate It is extremely important for us to remain adaptable to our clients’ modality based needs and requirements, whilst still operating under our broad Jungian and existential, psycho-therapeutic ethical framework. As such we invest regularly in updating our therapists’ modality and client group based training and qualifications. As well as being post-graduate level, psycho-therapeutically trained in our general modality based offerings, all of our therapists are encouraged to develop further client group and modality specialities. We also offer a strong focus on play-led therapy, for children and for adults, more fully explored at our site’s ‘play’ links. AoYT provide couples counselling services. We are also one of the only practices in Scotland able to offer therapeutic services from trained and qualified staff, working within safe neuropsychological modality and environmental frameworks, for the 1 in 5 people who are neurodiverse, or have a neurological condition and/or disability.
