I work with children, adolescents, young adults and parents as they navigate emotions, relationships, stuckness and change. I welcome my clients into the therapeutic space with warmth, empathy and acceptance and help them explore their experiences and capacity for growth by integrating creativity and a strength based approach.

About Me

I'm Karneet, a Counselling Psychologist based in Delhi, India. I hold a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology and have had the opportunity to work with individuals across different developmental stages. Over the years, my understanding of therapy has been shaped not only by theories and techniques that I have studied, but also by the people I have encountered and the stories they have trusted me with. Each of these experiences has shaped the way I see therapy and the kind of space I strive to create for my clients. My approach is rooted in person-centered and humanistic values, with empathy, genuineness, congruence and a belief in each person's capacity for growth and self-actualisation at its heart. I also draw upon expressive and creative approaches, using art as a way of exploring experiences that may sometimes be difficult to put into words. Outside the therapy space, I am a big fan of stories, cinema, music and theatre. My own experience with theatre and the performing arts has taught me the power of expression, perspective, and stepping into different narratives. Art has, in many ways, helped me find my own voice, and this shapes my belief that creative expression can offer meaningful ways of understanding ourselves. At the heart of my work is an optimistic view of people and their capacity for growth. I believe that our emotions are not problems to be silenced, but experiences that can help us understand what matters to us. Therapy for me is about creating a space where we can listen to those emotions with curiosity, make sense of our experiences, recognise out strengths and meet the most authentic versions of ourselves.

Approach

My approach to therapy is grounded in person-centered and humanistic values, where empathy, genuineness, acceptance, and respect for each individual's unique experience form the foundation of our work together. I believe that every person has an inherent capacity for growth and self-actualisation, and therapy can provide the space to reconnect with that capacity. I take a strengths-based and collaborative approach, helping clients understand their emotions, recognise their existing resources, and make sense of the stories they carry. I also integrate expressive and creative techniques, including elements of art and theatre, when they can help clients explore and express experiences beyond words.
