Ms Kaori Stram

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

An experienced, compassionate psychotherapist who is specialized in treating anxiety, depression and trauma with a healing-oriented, emotional-focused, mind-body therapy, called AEDP psychotherapy. Woking well with people who feel not understood, alone, ashamed as well as imposter syndrome.

About Me

I am an experienced psychotherapist helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, and trauma. Using healing-oriented AEDP psychotherapy, we explore how mind and body connect to process difficult emotions. This approach is especially helpful if you feel misunderstood, alone, ashamed, or experience imposter syndrome. Together, we can gently uncover your innate capacity for healing and build a sense of inner safety.

Approach

That sense of wanting to be understood shapes how I work—attunement comes first, then gentle tracking of sensations, images and difficult feelings so healing can unfold from the body as well as the mind. I see adults in New York City and online, offering sessions in English and Japanese that feel steady, focused and paced to your tolerance. In sessions we co-regulate, name patterns, and practice small experiments between meetings to build safety and resilience. This way of working often helps people who feel unseen, ashamed or stuck.
