Dr Joseph Philip
Psychotherapist
“Extensive work with families of persons with Mental Illness; Individual psychotherapy and personal therapy.”
About Me
I help individuals and families navigate the profound impact of mental illness. Through individual psychotherapy, we explore personal challenges and foster resilience. For families, I guide conversations to build understanding and practical coping skills. My approach provides a calm, insightful space where you can feel truly heard. This support is ideal for those seeking personal growth or to better support a loved one.
Approach
After years alongside families supporting someone with mental illness, my work is hands-on and pragmatic: sessions move between focused listening, gentle real-time reframing and short, doable steps you can try between meetings. From my base in Bangalore I offer in-person and online sessions in English and Hindi/Urdu, and I routinely invite family members in when their presence helps shift patterns. Sessions are paced to match your tolerance, blend practical problem-solving with emotional reflection, and often leave people feeling more able to cope and relate.
