Educational Psychologist

verified by TherapyRoute

I am an Educational Psychologist and Registered Psychometrist working across educational, developmental, and adjustment-related contexts. My work is grounded in careful assessment, ethical practice, and an understanding of how learning, development, identity, life experiences, and context shape functioning across the lifespan. I aim to offer a non-judgemental, person-centred space, with support that is practical, thoughtful, and meaningful within real-world settings.

About Me

I am an Educational Psychologist and Registered Psychometrist with experience working across educational, developmental, and adjustment-related contexts. My work is grounded in understanding how learning, development, cognition, identity, disability, trauma, and life transitions shape how people function in their everyday lives. I place strong value on careful assessment, thoughtful psychological formulation, and practical support that makes sense within real-world systems such as families, schools, workplaces, and communities. A key area of interest in my professional work and ongoing doctoral research is disability and inclusion, particularly how environments and systems can better support differently-abled and neurodivergent individuals through appropriate understanding, accommodation, and planning. Alongside assessment, I offer therapeutic support and consultation guided by individual needs, context, and collaboratively identified goals. I aim to provide a non-judgemental, person-centred, and LGBTQIA+-affirming space, where people feel respected, understood, and supported. On a personal level, I am an adoptive parent and have lived experience within a family affected by acquired brain injury. This has deepened my appreciation for the complexity of family systems, caregiving, and life transitions, and informs the care and sensitivity I bring to my work with individuals and families.

Approach

My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in a clear understanding of context. I work at a pace that allows space for careful listening, reflection, and shared meaning-making, while also keeping an eye on practical outcomes that can be carried forward beyond the therapy or consultation space. I see psychological work as something that happens within systems — families, schools, workplaces, communities — and I pay close attention to how these systems support or constrain wellbeing, learning, and adjustment. Rather than relying on one fixed method, I aim to work flexibly and responsively, adapting my approach to the individual, their circumstances, and their goals. I value clarity and transparency in the therapeutic process and see collaboration as central to effective work. Whether the focus is assessment, support, or consultation, my aim is to help people develop insight, feel supported in navigating change, and make informed decisions that are realistic and sustainable within their lives.

Basic Information

Services

I offer therapeutic support to individuals experiencing a range of educational, developmental, emotional, and adjustment-related difficulties. Therapy is tailored to each person’s needs and circumstances and may focus on understanding current challenges, developing insight, strengthening coping strategies, and supporting adaptation to change. My work is guided by careful formulation and collaboration, with attention to both individual experiences and the broader contexts in which people live, learn, and work. Where appropriate, therapy may be short-term and goal-focused, or form part of a broader process of assessment, consultation, or support planning. Therapeutic services are offered within a professional, ethical, and respectful framework, with an emphasis on clarity, practicality, and meaningful progress.
