Mrs Joanna Baars

Professional Counselor

A humanistic/integrative counsellor registered with the NCPS, who specialises particularly in (normalised) childhood trauma for both adults & minors (CPTSD), trust, loneliness, identity, self-relationship issues & rebuilding, general relationships & attachment, generalised anxiety, neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ & more.

About Me

I guide adults and minors through the complexities of normalised childhood trauma and CPTSD. My humanistic and integrative approach helps rebuild trust, explore identity, and strengthen self-relationships. I also support clients navigating loneliness, general anxiety, neurodivergence, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. Together, we create a safe, compassionate space for healing and growth.

Approach

Starting from the trust and identity work we already name, therapy here moves at your pace with steady, practical steps that honour past wounds while building present safety. In sessions in Greater London or online in English I use reflective listening, somatic grounding and flexible pacing to help you notice patterns, try different responses and practice new self-relating between meetings. I keep tasks small, collaborative and tailored to neurodivergent needs or anxious minds. People seeking steady, humane support tend to find this approach helpful.
