Mr Jim Meaney

Psychotherapist

I am qualified Psychotherapist with APCP at level 9 QQI standard. I work with clients on Line and face to face - Anxiety, Depression, anger management and domestic abuse. I have also worked in the area of Suicide prevention and Postvention for the last 10 years. I work with couples and individuals

About Me

I support individuals and couples online and face-to-face as they navigate anxiety, depression, and anger. Drawing on a decade of experience in suicide prevention and postvention, I create a calm, understanding space where difficult emotions can be explored. We can work together to find clarity and develop practical ways forward. My approach is particularly suited for those dealing with domestic abuse or seeking support after profound loss.

Approach

I help you put words to difficult feelings, then we explore what makes them louder or quieter. Sessions in Limerick or online, in English, are relaxed, paced to your needs and focused on practical steps between meetings. We use short-term skills, safety planning when needed, and relational reflection with couples or individuals to move from crisis response to steadier coping. People often find clearer thinking, calmer reactions and tools they can actually use day-to-day.
