Jeyla S Chambers

My name is Jeyla and I am a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC. I started my career in Geneva, Switzerland, and worked extensively in Moscow, Dubai, and most recently Singapore, before moving to Edinburgh to be closer to family.

Over the years I was fortunate to add to my toolbox from a variety of different modalities, but overall I prioritise a holistic person-centered lens. The best thing about all my years of practice is that I get to “mix and match” and tailor my approach to each individual case, because no two are the same.

I have trained in CBT, DBT, ACT, MI, Mindfulness Based Therapy and Transactional Analysis. My personal interests are in Existential and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and I am quite passionate about how our own childhood experiences of attachment (and separation) shape our family and parenting relationships and dynamics. I work with a variety of mental health concerns but most of my experience is with anxiety and depression and the behaviours they often underpin.

I practice from a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed and neuroaffirming stance and have lots of experience in supporting mental health and neurodiversity. I strongly believe in working together to find what works best, and really enjoy working with parents and children. I work in English and in Russian and have supported many multicultural and multilingual families over the years.
