Verified

I help clients work through trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, and relationship-related distress. EMDR can be especially helpful if you experience intrusive memories, body-based anxiety, emotional triggers, or if you feel that you “understand everything” but still cannot shift the emotional reaction. If you’re looking for a clear, professional and goal-oriented therapeutic approach, I would be happy to support you. I also want you see that a crisis can be wonderful for growth. Like Churchill said: "Never waste a good crisis"

About Me

I’m Jan Voss, a Berlin-based therapist (Heilpraktiker for Psychotherapy) offering EMDR and hypnotherapy in English and German. Many of the people I work with are expats, international professionals, creatives, and LGBTQ+ clients who feel highly functional on the outside, but overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck internally. In my sessions you can expect a calm, structured space where we focus on what actually changes things. I work in a pragmatic way: we identify what keeps your nervous system in survival mode and then use effective methods to help you process it, not just talk about it. My style is warm and direct. I take you seriously, but I also aim to help you regain agency quickly. Therapy with me is not about endless analysis. It’s about getting relief, clarity, and a stronger inner ground to stand on.

Approach

In the first sessions we clarify your goals, your current symptoms, and your personal history. We build enough safety and inner stability before processing difficult memories, especially if you experience overwhelm or dissociation. EMDR is not about forcing exposure. It is about helping your brain integrate experiences that are “stuck” and still trigger strong emotional or bodily reactions. My approach is structured and collaborative: we move at your pace, but with a clear direction. Many clients appreciate that sessions are both emotionally supportive and practical with tangible progress over time. Depending on your situation, we may work with EMDR, elements of hypnotherapy, guided imagery, and practical stabilization techniques. I also love reparenting...because it is never too late to have a good childhood.
