Ms Jade Richards

Counseling Psychologist

As a therapist, and as a client myself, I have experienced psychotherapy to be a meaningful and empowering process. I believe that relationships are at the core of human development and base my practice in relational work and psychodynamic thinking.

About Me

I believe therapy offers a truly meaningful and empowering process. Rooted in relational work and psychodynamic thinking, I help clients explore how past relationships shape their present. We can work together to understand recurring patterns and find new ways of connecting. This approach is ideal for those seeking a deeper understanding of their inner world. As a therapist and former client, I understand this journey. I aim for our sessions to be a place where you feel understood.

Approach

Therapy often becomes a space where we notice small moments that map back to earlier relationships, and I pay close attention to those cues. I offer sessions in Cape Town and online in English, keeping a steady, attentive pace that balances gentle exploration with clear reflection. In-session we explore feelings, behaviours and relational expectations, make links to past experiences, and I support short experiments between meetings—small changes you can try and reflect on. This approach tends to help people facing transitions, grief, anxiety, parenthood or relationship strains.
