If you are navigating life between cultures and experiencing questions around identity, belonging, stress, or feeling disconnected from yourself, I can support you in exploring these experiences with greater awareness and reconnecting with yourself in a more authentic way. I am an expat living and working in São Paulo and offer both online and in-person sessions.

About Me

I am a psychologist working from a Gestalt therapy and phenomenological-existential perspective, with a particular interest in the relationship between emotional well-being and embodied experience. Originally from Germany, I have lived and worked across different cultural contexts, including time in the United States and, for many years now, in Brazil. My personal and professional journey as an expatriate has shaped my understanding of adaptation, belonging, identity, and both the challenges and richness of living between cultures. Before entering the field of psychology, I worked in a corporate environment, which gave me direct contact with themes such as performance demands, stress, transitions, relationships, and the balance between personal and professional life. My interest in body-oriented perspectives has also been shaped by my personal journey. As an athlete, I became increasingly aware of how the body carries meaning, responds to challenges, and communicates beyond words. Together with my background in bodywork and Rolfing® Structural Integration, this deepened my understanding of the connection between body awareness, emotions, and human experience. I seek to create a supportive and respectful therapeutic space where people can explore themselves and their lives with greater awareness, presence, and curiosity. I work with adults facing challenges such as stress, anxiety, life transitions, relationship difficulties, emotional exhaustion, questions of identity, and personal growth. Our work together can take place in Portuguese, English, or German, either online or in person.

Approach

My work is grounded in Gestalt therapy and a phenomenological-existential perspective. Rather than focusing on predefined interpretations or fixed solutions, I seek to understand each person within the context of their unique life experience, relationships, and environment. I view therapy as a collaborative process where awareness can gradually expand through curiosity, dialogue, and presence. Together, we may explore thoughts, emotions, patterns of relating, and the ways these experiences are expressed not only through words but also through the body. My interest in embodiment and body awareness informs my work while respecting the boundaries and ethics of psychological practice. I believe that greater awareness of oneself: emotionally, relationally, and physically, can create space for new possibilities, choices, and ways of being. I aim to create a respectful, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where people can feel safe exploring their experiences, deepen self-awareness, and cultivate a more authentic relationship with themselves and others.
