Ilse

Ms Ilse Jordaan

Clinical Psychologist

I have practices in Stellenbosch and Cape Town (Gardens) and work from a psychodynamic perspective. The aim of therapy is to explore the root cause of symptoms and to work through unconscious conflicts within the context of the therapeutic relationship. Healing is facilitated through interpretation and self-insight.

About Me

I offer a space to explore the deeper roots of your challenges, moving beyond surface symptoms. Together, within our therapeutic relationship, we can uncover unconscious patterns. Through careful interpretation and growing self-insight, you can gain a profound understanding of yourself. This approach helps those seeking lasting change and a clearer path forward.

Approach

Therapy often unfolds as a careful tracing of how past hurts turn up in current feelings and relationships, with attention to the small moments we can name together. I work with adults and couples from offices in Stellenbosch and Cape Town (Gardens), and also meet online, in English or Afrikaans, to keep the work accessible. Sessions move at a reflective pace: noticing reactions in the room, offering tentative interpretations, and sometimes experimenting with new ways of relating between meetings. This way suits those seeking deeper, lasting self-understanding.
