Mr Ian Michie

Psychotherapist (Registered)

Private Psychodynamic Psychotherapist offeirng short term 6 - 16 sessions or open ended therapy for individuals and couples

About Me

When you feel stuck in repeating patterns or wish to explore deeper emotional experiences, I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy for individuals and couples. We can gently uncover how past experiences might shape your present feelings and relationships. This approach helps make sense of underlying dynamics. Whether you prefer focused short-term work (6-16 sessions) or open-ended exploration, we will find a pace that feels right for your journey towards greater clarity and understanding.

Approach

When a clearer pace feels needed, I shape therapy to fit either a focused brief block or a longer exploratory rhythm, attending to what feels most manageable for you. Sessions take place in English, in person in London or online, and usually hold a steady, emotionally attuned frame that links present distress with earlier influences. We notice recurring patterns, name feelings as they come up, and I may offer short reflections between sessions so insights can settle into daily life. This way of working often helps adults navigating relationships, mood or stress.
