Dr Iain Mays

Clinical Psychologist

I offer a therapeutic space centred around trust, confidentiality and empathy; no pressure, no judgement, just a supportive place to explore and work through things. I use techniques from a number of models such as CBT, ACT, MBSR and Distress Tolerance.

About Me

If you are seeking a confidential space to truly be yourself, I offer a non-judgmental environment. I support individuals navigating life's challenges, helping you make sense of difficult emotions. We can explore practical ways forward, using techniques like Distress Tolerance to build resilience. My aim is for you to feel heard, understood, and equipped with tools for lasting change.

Approach

We begin by listening to what matters most to you, then shape each session around short-term steps and gentle inquiry so you can try things out between meetings. Sessions are available in Cork and online, in English, and are paced to suit adolescents, adults and parents. You can expect practical experiments, short grounding exercises and values-based choices between sessions, with simple tracking of progress and coping skills for stressful moments. This way of working often helps people facing transitions, persistent worry, grief or long-term health challenges.
