“I am a Psychologist offering online counselling in English. I support adults through anxiety, life transitions, and the challenges of living abroad, with warmth, curiosity, and evidence-based care.”

About me

My path to psychology began somewhere unexpected, on an ambulance. Working as an EMT at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, I found myself drawn not just to the physical emergencies I responded to, but to the people behind them. Those experiences showed me how much people need a space to feel heard and supported, and they set me on the path toward counselling. That journey eventually brought me from the United States to Amsterdam, where I completed my MSc in Clinical Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. Working in emergency care taught me things that no classroom could. I learned how to stay calm when everything around you is uncertain, how to be fully present with someone in their worst moment, and how much it matters to feel like someone is genuinely there with you. I also saw, over and over, that the hardest part of what people were going through was rarely just the physical. It was the fear, the overwhelm, and the feeling of not knowing what comes next. That is what drew me toward the kind of work where I could sit with people through those harder, less visible struggles. What those experiences also taught me is that people are more capable than they often give themselves credit for. Building inner resilience is not about having everything figured out or never struggling. It is about developing the tools, clarity, and self-trust to keep moving forward anyway. That "making it work" mindset is central to everything I do. My academic training gave me a rigorous grounding in how people think, feel, and regulate their behaviour, and combined with my own experience of reinvention, I bring both scientific grounding and genuine human warmth to every session, because I believe the best support helps you find your footing and trust that you can carry it forward yourself.

Approach

I don't work from a single rigid framework, because people aren't rigid. My approach blends evidence-based methods with a collaborative, curious style. Together we explore what is actually going on for you, not what a textbook says should be. Sessions tend to feel structured enough to make real progress, but open enough that you can bring what is truly present for you that day. The science matters to me. My research background means I stay grounded in what the evidence says about what genuinely helps people, and I carry that into how I think about our work together. Whether we are looking at patterns of thought, emotional regulation, or how you respond under pressure, I believe in understanding things carefully before reaching for solutions. Underlying everything is a belief that the therapeutic relationship itself is part of what heals. My time in emergency care showed me that how you show up for someone matters as much as what you do. I aim to create a space that feels safe, non-judgmental, and honest, somewhere you can say the things that are hard to say and begin to figure out what comes next. For clients who are navigating life far from home, or simply far from who they thought they would be by now, that kind of grounded, consistent presence can matter more than any single technique.
