Ms Farin Khan, MSc

Psychological Psychotherapist

“I work with women and adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, emotional challenges, and life transitions, including the unique experiences of pregnancy and motherhood. Using a compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based approach, I help clients understand their emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and build the confidence to create meaningful, lasting change.”

About me

Hi, I’m Farin Khan. I believe that everyone deserves a space where they can feel truly heard, understood, and accepted, without judgment or the pressure to have everything figured out. I work primarily with women and adolescents who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, overwhelming emotions, or simply feeling lost or stuck. I also support women through the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. Whatever brings you to therapy, I understand that reaching out isn't always easy, and I want you to feel comfortable taking that first step. My approach to therapy is warm, gentle, and collaborative. I believe that you are the expert on your own experiences, and my role is to walk alongside you, helping you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, explore patterns, and discover what works best for you. I use evidence-based approaches, including CBT, ACT, and DBT-informed techniques, but I also believe that therapy is never one-size-fits-all. Our sessions are a space for honest conversations, reflection, and sometimes even a little laughter. We might explore difficult emotions, challenge unhelpful beliefs, or simply slow down and notice what's happening beneath the surface. There is no expectation to always know what to say or where to begin. Above all, I hope that working together helps you feel a little lighter, understand yourself a little better, and gradually find the confidence and tools to navigate life in a way that feels right for you.

Approach

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable, understood, and genuinely supported. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, but also structured and focused on helping you make meaningful changes in your life. I know that no two people experience things in the same way, so I take time to understand your story, your challenges, and what you hope to achieve. Together, we create a treatment plan tailored to your needs, using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, and DBT-informed techniques. I also believe that much of the growth happens outside the therapy room. I often suggest small, practical exercises between sessions to help you put what we discuss into practice. We regularly check in on what's working and make adjustments along the way. Most importantly, I want you to feel that therapy is a space where you can be yourself, without judgment or pressure. I'll offer kindness, patience, and encouragement, while also gently challenging you when needed. My goal is not just to help you feel better, but to help you understand yourself better and build skills that stay with you long after therapy ends.

Services

I specialise in supporting women and adolescents through a range of emotional, psychological, and relationship challenges. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), borderline personality disorder (BPD), emotional regulation, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. I have a particular interest in women’s mental health, including the emotional challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, and major life transitions. I also work with adolescents navigating anxiety, identity, self-confidence, emotional difficulties, and the challenges of growing up. Using CBT, ACT, and DBT-informed approaches, I tailor therapy to each person's needs, helping them understand their emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and build more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.
