Dr Eva Ponder

Clinical Psychologist

I am passionate about collaborating with people to find the empowerment and health they are seeking.

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Virginia, serving clients in the District of Columbia suburbs. I provide counseling, relationship counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR therapy. I treat trauma, anxiety, abuse, life transitions, and chronic illness.

Approach

That commitment shapes a practical, steady way of working: sessions move at a measured pace, blending attentive listening with clear next steps. I meet with adults virtually and in Springfield and offer secure online sessions in English, creating space for both emotional processing and targeted skill practice between meetings. Assessment feedback and short, doable exercises often guide decisions so progress feels visible and manageable. People navigating chronic illness, life transitions, trauma, or relationship strain tend to find this collaborative, structured rhythm helpful.

Basic Information

Services

Therapy begins with a meeting to understand your needs and your history. This helps us to develop a plan tailored to prioritize and work together to work toward your goals for wellness. I am able to integrate different approaches and commit to working with you in finding the best possible fit.

During the COVID-19 crisis, I am offering online consultation.
