Nervous System Healing:
A Deep Dive into Mind-Body Therapy in Singapore
Embrace the ability to come back to equilibrium balance and return to your state of safety and connection
How does a regulated Nervous System bring a sense of well-being into your life?
A regulated nervous system fosters well-being by maintaining a delicate balance between its sympathetic and parasympathetic branches.
The sympathetic system activates the body's "fight or flight" response, while the parasympathetic system promotes relaxation and recovery.
Achieving equilibrium between these branches is essential for the following:
• Efficient stress management
• Influences emotional stability
• Improved cognitive function
• Emotional resilience
• Improved decision-making
• Sense of calm
Overall, Nervous system balance is fundamental to a healthier and more fulfilling life experience.
Trauma (aka) stress stored in the nervous system, causing dysregulation.
This stored tension disrupts the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches, impacting emotional and physical well-being, and causing dysregulation, such as:
• Overwhelmed
• Depression
• Procrastination
• Perfectionism
• Anger
• Poor concentration
• Hypervigilance
• Anxious
• Disconnected
• Detached
• Shut down
• Numb
What stops us from releasing Trauma (aka) trapped stress energy?
Several factors can impede the release of trauma, and these can vary from person to person.
Here are some common factors:
• Incomplete Fight or Flight Responses: In some stressful situations, the body's natural responses, such as fighting or fleeing, may have been thwarted or interrupted. This can result in a lingering sense of tension or unease that needs to be addressed for the trauma to be released.
• Lack of Awareness: Sometimes, individuals may not be fully aware of the traumatic experiences or the impact they have had on their bodies and minds. Bringing awareness to these experiences is a crucial step in the healing process.
• Dissociation: Some individuals may have coped with trauma by disconnecting from their body and emotions. Reconnecting with these aspects is important for trauma resolution, but it can be challenging if dissociation is a coping mechanism.
Realizing trauma state upon understanding your stress physiology. Learning comes through education and knowledge of how the Nervous System works.
How do we get unstuck, and how do we release trauma?
Begin to move out of the immobility response.
When we can access our bodies through the felt sense, we can discharge the trapped survival energy that keeps us in dysregulation and begin to feel creative and fully alive again.
