Mrs Eileen Toibin

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist

I have worked as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist for 25 years in private practice and the NHS. I work ethically and thoughtfully. I see patients between once a week and three times a week. I have for many years been a training therapist for Tavistock trainees, Highgate counselling trainees, Psychiatrists in training within the NHS and honorary therapists within the NHS.

About Me

I have for 25 years worked as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice and in the NHS. I offer a deeply reflective space that allows individuals to understand long-standing patterns of behaviour, and to process intense emotional experiences that maybe occurring currently but that have their roots in early, often unconscious experiences, memories or phantasies. My work is thoughtful and ethical. This approach suits those seeking in-depth understanding of their internal world.

Approach

In a calm quiet consulting room, or via secure online sessions from London, I create a space where the focus is gently paced and attentive. Sessions move between listening to present worries, tracing earlier emotional patterns and exploring ,for example, dreams, For pregnant women pre-birth or postnatal concerns, disturbing thoughts etc. I offer interpretations. This way of working suits adults who present with a wide variety of initial concerns, e.g. anxiety, grief, difficult in securing a stable identity or relationship issues.
