Dr Liz Saunders

Medical Doctor

I am a medically qualified and BABCP accredited CBT therapist with extensive experience of working with people with emotional difficulties. I am now also able to offer EMDR therapy for PTSD and trauma.

About Me

As a medically qualified therapist, I bring a grounded, evidence-based approach to emotional well-being. I help adults navigate various difficulties, particularly those connected to trauma or PTSD. We can explore your experiences using proven methods like CBT. I also offer EMDR therapy to process challenging memories. My aim is to create a structured, compassionate space where you can build resilience and find practical ways forward.

Approach

Sessions move between focused skill-building and carefully paced memory work, guided by what feels manageable for you and by clear, collaborative goals. I see people in Pulborough or online in English, keeping each session predictable with agreed priorities and short, practical tasks between meetings. We test small behavioural changes, make sense of unhelpful patterns, and prepare any processing work in gradual steps so you stay in control. This steady, pragmatic way of working often helps those recovering from overwhelm or persistent anxiety to regain confidence.
