Dr Leah Robbins

Clinical Psychologist

I am an experienced clinical psychologist and reiki master with a heart-centered, holistic approach to healing trauma, grief, depression and anxiety for both children and adults.

About Me

I am a clinical psychologist in Del Mar, California. I provide individual and relationship counseling for life transitions, adoption issues, trauma, mood disorders, low self-esteem, and stress. I offer a direct, confidential space to sort feelings and build clear coping skills.

Approach

I became a therapist because I am an empath, and I feel the pain of those around me. I have always been drawn to alleviating their pain. My lifelong journey has been to enhance my natural healing abilities by continuing to learn new ways of helping others. This includes becoming an Usui and Karuna Reiki Master, visiting sacred energy vortexes around the world (Sedona, Mendocino Coast, Mount Shasta, Hawaii, Machu Picchu, Cuzco, Sacred Valley of the Incas, Lake Titicaca, Chichen Itza, Teotihuacan, Foco Tonal, Avebury and Stonehenge), experiencing and assisting with healing retreats.

My personal and professional experience with healing from trauma and loss means that in addition to knowing how to guide people through it, I know how it feels to move through the darkness and feel the light again. My intuitive and compassionate nature provide me the gifts to not only see people’s obstacles and wounds, but to see their fullest potential. My analytical skills and experience help illuminate the path for people to become the best versions of themselves. My clients feel connected to my heart and trust in my ability to help them feel strong, joyous and whole again.

I use a variety of theoretical perspectives and empirically supported treatments. My theoretical orientation involves an integrative approach, drawing from humanistic, developmental/attachment theory, family systems and cognitive-behavioral influences. I use an intuitive and holistic approach to healing that incorporates the mind, body and spirit.

The mind-body connection is powerful. Heavy emotions can get stored in the body, leaving energetic imprints that often manifest as physical illness, pain or fatigue. Our thoughts, beliefs and perspective on events has a great deal to do with how we feel and whether the emotions get stuck or released. Spiritually we might lose faith in ourselves, and the belief that we deserve the best in life. Therapy can be helpful to break these unhealthy patterns of thinking and feeling and improve the way we interact with the world. An energetic form of healing, called Reiki, is also helpful in clearing the energetic blocks, aiding in releasing the heavy emotions we tend to hold on to. In addition to being a Licensed Psychologist, I am a Certified Reiki Practitioner/Instructor. My clients benefit from both Reiki and Psychotherapy in my practice.

Therapy or life coaching with me will help you increase self-awareness, break unhealthy patterns, experience transformation, and help you find the path to your highest potential.

My private practice in Del Mar, California provides Life Coaching, Psychotherapy, Reiki and guided meditations. Sessions are provided via Teletherapy (phone or video), and in person.
