Dominique Schutte

Registered Counselor

I have been working within the counselling and education field since 2017. I have worked in China, Thailand and South Africa. I have been accepted to complete my Masters in Education Psychology. I work from a person centred approach and make use of CBT, narrative therapy and solution focused therapy.

About Me

I offer Counseling with a person-centred approach, focusing on your unique needs. Drawing on my experience in education and diverse international settings since 2017, I help clients explore challenges. We can use practical tools from CBT, narrative, or solution-focused techniques. My adaptable style and commitment to ongoing learning, including my Masters acceptance, helps you gain clarity and find your way forward.

Approach

My time across Asia and Africa informs a careful, flexible rhythm in sessions: I listen for stories and patterns, then gently test small, practical shifts you can try between meetings. Sessions tend to move from curious exploration to short, focused experiments—sometimes reframing a memory, sometimes mapping a conflict, sometimes rehearsing a new response—so progress feels tangible and paced to you. I work primarily online from Johannesburg in English, and people dealing with relationship strain or past hurt often find this steady, hands-on way helpful.
