Dr David Moore

Counselor

Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst of the American Psychoanalytic Association and the International Psychoanalytic Assocation.

About Me

If you're seeking to understand the roots of persistent difficulties, I offer a deeply reflective space. As a Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst, my extensive experience allows us to explore longstanding patterns. We can work together to make sense of what holds you back, fostering profound, lasting change. This approach suits those ready for a comprehensive journey into self-discovery, leading to greater freedom.

Approach

Having trained and supervised within the American and International psychoanalytic communities, I bring a careful, curious stance to how we work together, attending closely to what emerges in the room. In my Durham office and via secure online sessions in English, pacing is deliberate: we track recurring emotions, associations, and relational patterns while keeping space for immediate experience. Between sessions you may be invited to notice moods or dreams that feed our exploration; in-session I offer observations aimed at clarifying unhelpful cycles. This way of working often suits adults and couples seeking deep, sustained understanding and change.
