Dr David Goldberg

Clinical Psychologist

I am a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst with over 20 years of clinical experience. I primarily work with adults and adolescents. In a world that often feels fast-paced and fragmented, I view therapy as a vital space to slow down and reclaim a sense of genuine experience. My practice is grounded in the belief that our struggles are not just isolated symptoms, but are deeply woven into our personal histories and the social worlds we inhabit. I work collaboratively with my patients to move beyond sterile labels, focusing instead on 'poiesis'—the creative act of developing new meanings and possibilities for your life. Together, we explore the 'not-knowing' and the 'opacity' of the human experience to foster a more profound sense of freedom and aliveness.

About Me

With over 20 years of clinical experience, I help adults and adolescents navigate complex feelings and find deeper understanding. As a psychoanalyst, I guide clients to explore long-standing patterns and unconscious influences shaping their lives. We work together to make sense of challenges. My approach offers a consistent, thoughtful space, well-suited for those seeking profound, lasting personal growth.

Approach

Individuals are often unaware of the many factors that determine their emotions and behavior. My approach fosters self-awareness. By better understanding their perceptions about themselves and others, as well as how important experiences have influenced them, clients can change the way they see themselves and the world. They can make informed choices about the way they conduct their present and future lives. My approach is especially suited to getting to the root of long standing maladaptive problems and patterns.
