Prof David Edwards

Clinical Psychologist

Certified as a therapist and trainer by the International Society of Schema therapy. My practice is currently full but I may be able to recommend someone.

About Me

I am a Clinical Psychologist in Westlake, Western Cape, South Africa. I am a certified trainer in schema therapy. I mainly do longer term therapy (at least 3 months, usually longer) to help people with deep seated personality problems. This can help address such common problems as persistent depression, chronic anxiety (e.g. social anxiety, worrying, trauma-related etc), anger management, disordered eating , relationship difficulties and conflicts. I usually begin with a comprehensive assessment to get an understanding of the nature of your problems and the probable underlying causes.

Approach

Schema therapy is an integrative therapy that is designed for complex and difficult problems and draws on Process-experiential, Emotion-focused, Relational, Cognitive and Behavioural approaches.
