Dr Crystal Welman

Counseling Psychologist

I’ve learnt that it's often most helpful to concentrate on the issue in the here-and-now and collaborate with clients to explore useful strategies on how to move forward with a solution to the issue, versus dwelling on the problem for too long. Let me help you (re-)discover your inner resources and strengths.

About Me

I focus on your present challenges, believing therapy works best when exploring immediate solutions. We will collaboratively explore useful strategies to move forward, focusing on solutions rather than prolonged dwelling on problems. My aim is to help you (re-)discover your inner resources and strengths. This approach suits clients keen to build on their capabilities and find a clear path ahead.

Approach

I keep our focus on the immediate challenge, working side-by-side in a steady, practical rhythm that blends careful listening with hands-on problem solving. I offer sessions in Brakpan and online, in English and Afrikaans, so you can choose what feels safest and most convenient. In the room we practise new ways of relating, managing mood or behaviour and experiment with small steps to try between sessions, then review what works. This approach suits people who want clear, manageable change.
