Mrs Claire Battiston

Clinical Psychologist

Clinical psychologist experienced in multiple therapeutic modalities. Treatment is always grounded in mindfulness and focused on mind-body connection. Special interests include trauma and maternal mental health. Qualified EMDR and TRE practitioner.

About Me

I help clients explore their experiences, always grounding our work in mindfulness and the mind-body connection. If you are navigating trauma or the unique challenges of maternal mental health, we can gently unpack these feelings together. My approach integrates techniques like EMDR to help you process difficult memories. I aim to create a space where you feel truly heard, helping you find stability and inner calm.

Approach

Sessions move at a steady, attuned pace where mindfulness and close attention to bodily signals guide how we explore difficult memories and everyday overwhelm. In Cape Town I work in English and Afrikaans and also offer remote sessions, so therapy can fit around your life. You can expect a collaborative rhythm—gentle body-focused exercises, guided processing of distressing material, and practical tools to try between meetings that reinforce safety and regulation. This approach tends to suit people facing trauma or the shifting demands of motherhood.
