Ms Claire Barry

Psychotherapist

I am an accredited & registered psychodynamic therapist with the UKCP & BACP working with young people, adults and couples short & long term

About Me

As a psychodynamic therapist, I provide a calm space for young people, adults, and couples. Here, we can gently explore how past experiences influence your present feelings and relationships. You might seek short-term support for a specific challenge. Or, we can delve into deeper, long-term insight into enduring patterns. My aim is to help you gain clarity. This approach suits those ready to understand themselves more fully.

Approach

Work is quiet and attentive, moving at a steady pace so difficult memories or current stresses can be noticed without overwhelm. In Banbury and online in English, I listen reflectively, ask curious questions and sometimes suggest small tasks between sessions to help trace links from childhood, abuse, perinatal anxieties or relationship strains to how you feel now. I balance short, practical problem-solving with longer exploration, adjusting the rhythm to what feels manageable. This collaborative pace often suits those facing burnout, life transitions or complex emotional legacies.
