Cindy

Mrs Cindy van Wyk

Neuropsychologist

I am a psycho-analytically trained therapist who practices from a relational modality with specialised training in neuropsychology. I have also lectured at various tertiary institutions and am looking to pursue my PhD. I am a passionate advocate for mental health and have a keen interest in neurodivergence.

About Me

I offer a warm, relational space to gently explore how your unique mind shapes your experiences and connections. Drawing on my specialised neuropsychology training, I help clients understand their inner world, especially those who are neurodivergent. We'll work collaboratively to make sense of patterns, fostering new ways to relate and thrive. This approach helps you gain a deeper, compassionate understanding of yourself.

Approach

From that place, therapy unfolds as a careful mapping of how your mind organizes feelings, memories and relationships, with attention to subtle neurocognitive patterns. Sessions are paced to match your processing—sometimes slow and exploratory, sometimes focused and problem-solving—and I combine reflective dialogue with gentle, evidence-informed assessment when clarity is needed. Between sessions you may be offered concise observations or strategies to try in daily life to test new ways of relating. This way of working often suits people who value thoughtful, collaborative exploration.
