While my practice is grounded in Jungian thought, it is not restricted by it. The priority is always what emerges in a given moment, and each session shapes its own dialogue with whatever seeks to unfold.

About Me

I am a German psychological counselor currently based in Indonesia. Having lived in several countries as both an expatriate and a digital nomad, I understand many of the challenges that accompany adapting to new environments, cultures, and ways of life. Before turning to psychology, I spent many years working in the technology sector. This experience gave me first-hand insight into the pressures, demands, and psychological challenges that can arise in high-performance professional environments. Although my interest in psychology and working with people began early in life, it was in my thirties that I decided to pursue this path with full commitment. I trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities before finding an intellectual and professional home in the traditions of analytical psychology and psychoanalysis, particularly the works of C. G. Jung, Sigmund Freud, and their successors. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychoanalysis and am currently completing a two-year training program as an Archetypal Pattern Analyst at the Assisi Institute. Alongside my clinical work, I founded *Undercurrents: A Journal of Jungian Thought,* a journal dedicated to depth psychology. I have also published several video essays on the German YouTube channel *GeistReiche*. English versions of selected essays are available through another channel called *Toward the Obscure*.

Approach

My practice is grounded in an analytical approach, drawing primarily on Jungian psychology and psychoanalytic thought. These traditions provide the theoretical foundation for my work, but they do not completely determine it. Rather than committing rigidly to any single framework, I aim to respond to what emerges in each session. At times, this may call for an analytical exploration; at others, a more practical or coaching-oriented approach may be appropriate. The priority is always the person before me and the process unfolding in the present moment. My way of working rests on the leading assumption that much of what shapes our lives lies outside conscious awareness. Thoughts, emotions, dreams, fantasies, bodily experiences, recurring patterns, and seemingly minor details can all point toward an underlying psychological dynamic. By attending to these expressions, we allow new meanings and possibilities to emerge. I work with individuals in long-term counseling on a range of concerns, including life transitions, loss of meaning, grief, the challenges of living as an expat, self-defeating patterns, relationship difficulties, and personal development. Based in Indonesia, I offer online sessions in both German and English.
