Charlene Chow, MA

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I am cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive - and passionate about collaborating with adults with low mood, anxiety, relationship conflicts, questions of identity, and life changes. The best way to reach me is via the contact form in my website: ccc-counseling.com. Now serving MA, NY, DC, OH, SC, FL & VT!

About Me

I collaborate with adults navigating anxiety, relationship conflicts, identity questions, grief, and life changes. My work is person-centered and trauma-informed, and my goal is to create a safe, compassionate, culturally sensitive space to invite clients to show up as their authentic self. I love working with individuals to explore problematic thought patterns, process uncomfortable feelings, and develop practical strategies to gain clarity, resilience, and self-awareness.

Approach

Barring any unexpected mental health crises, sessions are expected to move at a steady, collaborative pace: we check in, clarify one or two priorities, and work on exploring and shifting any unhelpful patterns keeping you stuck. Clients are welcome to come prepared with their own agenda for each session, and to take notes during session as needed. Using secure video/phone sessions in English, I encourage focused thought‑work in sessions along with between-session reflection questions that are meant to bring mindfulness and self-empowerment into your day-to-day life. You can expect compassionate feedback, a nonjudgmental perspective, mental homework throughout, as well as regular validation of your "wins" to remind you that personal progress is both obtainable and real.

Basic Information

Services

Ideal clients for my practice are independent adults seeking virtual individual counseling. I primarily incorporate CBT, REBT, Gestalt, and mindfulness-based skills into sessions, but also enjoy integrating behavioral interventions, inner child work, and expressive arts exercises where appropriate. As a clinician with a diverse training background, I am more than happy to adapt to client preferences and needs, and likewise invite clients to provide real-time feedback as they see fit.
