Dr Carol Lotter

Music Therapist

An experienced, competent music therapist working predominantly in the field of mental health. Registered with the HPCSA.

About Me

This experienced music therapist helps individuals explore mental health challenges through the power of sound and rhythm. They guide clients to express complex feelings that words alone might miss. This creative approach offers a unique, gentle path to process emotions. It helps people find inner calm and build resilience. Sessions provide a supportive space to connect with oneself and discover new coping strategies.

Approach

Experienced practice guides me to shape sessions that move at your pace, where music and rhythm become a gentle bridge to feelings that are hard to name. In my Pretoria room I work in English and Afrikaans, inviting simple improvisation, guided listening and occasional songwriting so we can explore patterns, memory and bearing through creative action; between meetings I often suggest small, practical musical tasks to notice shifts. People facing grief, transition or cognitive change tend to find this steady, collaborative way helpful.
