Ms Cara Heitmann

Psychotherapist

Our goal is to support individuals in distress to regain their equilibrium, hope, self-esteem and joy. We support people in finding a way to accept where they are in this moment (rather than where they wish they were/think they should be) and take the steps needed to help them move closer to the life they want to live.

About Me

I understand how challenging it feels to be in distress, longing for change. My aim is to help you gently explore where you are right now, fostering acceptance without judgment. Together, we can identify practical steps to regain your equilibrium. This collaborative approach helps build towards a life filled with more hope, self-esteem, and joy. It's ideal for individuals ready to move forward at their own steady pace.

Approach

When we meet, I focus on meeting you where you are and helping you notice small, practical shifts toward steadiness and self‑compassion. Sessions usually unfold at a calm, measured pace—short check-ins, focused exploration of memories or symptoms, and simple grounding or behavioural steps you can try between sessions—whether anxiety, trauma responses, chronic illness fatigue or burnout are present. I keep things clear and collaborative, inviting feedback and adjusting as needed. This way of working tends to suit adults seeking steady, realistic change in everyday life across Ontario and online.
