Mrs Barbara Chandler

Social Worker (Mental Health)

An experienced, compassionate therapist offering psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, as well as children and their parents.

About Me

I am an experienced, compassionate therapist offering psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children with their parents. I help individuals and families navigate life’s challenges, fostering understanding and growth together. In sessions, we can explore feelings and develop practical strategies for daily life. I create a calm, collaborative space where you can feel truly heard and supported, building resilience.

Approach

Together we turn the understanding built in conversation into manageable steps, attending to emotions and relationships with gentle curiosity and age‑appropriate methods. I work with people, parents and families in Sandton and online, conducting sessions in English and adjusting pace to each person's needs. For children I include play and observation; for adolescents and adults we use reflective dialogue and practical coping techniques, and I offer diagnostic assessment when clarity helps guide next steps, especially around grief and trauma. Those needing steady, collaborative support through change or loss often find this style helpful.
