Clinical Mental Health Counsellor

Verified

“My practice is compassionate, culturally responsive, and collaborative. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore challenges, build self-understanding, and create meaningful change.”

About me

I am a U.S.-trained therapist and a Fulbright Scholar, based in Karachi, Pakistan, with an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Rochester, NY and a CPPD certificate in Humanistic Integrative Counseling. I also received a Clinical Training Award in the U.S. in recognition of outstanding counseling work and have training in evidence-based, recovery-oriented care. My clinical training includes individual counseling, group facilitation, trauma-informed care, and supervised work in university counseling and outpatient complex-care settings. I have also received training in addiction, harm reduction, and suicide-related support, and have supported patients navigating emotional distress, anxiety, depression, relationship and family concerns, identity-related questions, major life transitions, and suicidal ideation.

Approach

My approach is integrative, collaborative, and culturally responsive. I draw on emotion-focused, ISTDP-informed, person-centered, existential, solution-focused, and strengths-based approaches. Rather than applying one fixed approach, I work with patients to find a therapeutic process that feels meaningful and useful to them.
