Mrs Arina van Tonder

Wellness Counselor

I am an experienced and qualified Wellness Counsellor who specializes in trauma counselling (Traumatic Incident Reduction), Play Therapy and assisting children understand themselves and emotions better. I also am trained in family law and mediation.

About Me

I offer a calm, supportive space for individuals and families to navigate challenging emotions. For children, I use Play Therapy to help them voice feelings and understand themselves better. Adults can find clarity after difficult events through specialised trauma Counseling, including Traumatic Incident Reduction. My aim is to help you or your child find practical ways to move forward, fostering emotional well-being for all.

Approach

To help children express what they cannot say and for adults to find steady clarity after difficult events, I guide sessions with intention and gentle pacing so each person feels contained and heard. I offer appointments in Heidelberg and online, and work in English, Afrikaans or seTswana, welcoming individuals and families. Sessions often mix guided play or creative expression for younger clients with body‑aware, focused processing for adults, and we set small, practical steps to try between meetings. This way of working suits those seeking calm, tangible progress.
