Anthony Ajiduah

Counselling Psychologist

“I support individuals, couples, children, and families facing relationship strain, separation, parenting challenges, life transitions, grief, and emotional distress. Together, we create a confidential, practical space to understand what is happening, strengthen communication and coping, and move toward healthier relationships and wellbeing.”

About me

I am a counselling psychologist and a PhD candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are navigating emotional distress, relationship strain, parenting concerns, separation, grief, identity questions, and major life transitions. Working with me is collaborative, respectful, and practical. I provide a calm, confidential space where people can speak honestly without fear of being judged or rushed. I listen carefully to individual experiences while also paying attention to the relationships, family patterns, culture, faith, and life circumstances that may be shaping the concern. I do not see people as problems to be fixed. I help clients understand what is happening, identify their strengths, develop healthier ways of communicating and coping, and make choices that support their wellbeing. For couples and families, I help create safer conversations, clarify boundaries, repair trust where possible, and strengthen relationships while recognizing each person’s voice and safety. My work is informed by counselling psychology and systemic family therapy. I value cultural sensitivity, ethical care, and the role that spirituality may play in a client’s life when it is important to them. I aim to meet each client with compassion, honesty, and curiosity, while helping them move toward meaningful and sustainable change.

Approach

I offer a warm, respectful, and practical approach to therapy. I work with you to understand what is difficult, what has shaped it, and what changes would make the greatest difference in your daily life and relationships. As a counselling psychologist and PhD candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy, I consider both the individual and the wider context. This may include family relationships, communication patterns, parenting, culture, faith, work, loss, past experiences, and current pressures. I do not believe people are problems to be fixed, and I do not take sides in couples or family work. Instead, I help each person feel heard while we identify patterns that may be causing pain or keeping the situation stuck. Therapy is collaborative. We agree on goals, work at a pace that feels manageable, and use approaches that fit your needs. Depending on the concern, this may involve building coping skills, improving communication, setting healthier boundaries, processing grief or difficult experiences, strengthening parenting, rebuilding trust, or preparing for major life changes. My aim is to provide a confidential space where you can speak openly, understand yourself and your relationships more clearly, and leave with practical tools for lasting change. If faith or spirituality matters to you, it can be included thoughtfully and respectfully in the work.

Services

My areas of specialization include counselling for emotional wellbeing, relationship difficulties, parenting concerns, family conflict, separation and divorce, grief, life transitions, and personal growth. As a counselling psychologist and PhD candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy, I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families using a relationship-focused approach that considers both individual experiences and the wider family, cultural, and social context. I also support clients who are navigating communication breakdowns, trust concerns, blended-family adjustment, adolescent and young-adult transitions, stress, identity questions, and the effects of family conflict. Where meaningful to the client, I can integrate faith and spirituality into therapy in a respectful and clinically appropriate way.
